I asked Gracie if I could take the controls today. She seemed to not mind as I strategically asked while Phineas and Ferb was on.
Today was another adventure. Started out with a nice trip to Starbucks for my favorite (Pumpkin Loaf) and then off to New Tampa for some girl time. Manchi and I got our hair did then off to the stores for some retail therapy. We got all our school stuff, some more clothes, some stuff that we convinced mom was ABSOLUTELY necessary. After many hours of shopping, we rolled by the old house (to make sure it was still standing) and then back home, in time for the rest of the night.
So, the rest of the night you ask?? Well since you asked.... we were getting ready for The Sound of Music play at the Straz. By getting ready, mom was talking to daddy on the phone about the computer and I was getting everything I could find into Gracie's new backpack. As I was making my way to show mom (one flight of stairs below me) I ended up going end-over-end down the stairs. Needless to say, pain ensued. Mom dropped the phone and did what mom does best - left the phone on. Dad says all he could hear was screaming ladies for five minutes. After the chaos and race to the urgent care center all is okay. While mom thought something might be really bad with my leg, it turns out that I am alot tougher than the average 4 year and 6 day old. The only thing the doc found was a tear of that little thing in my upper lip.
We managed not to go see the Sound of Music, but we did get some ice cream. I say we won in that deal.
Speaking of winning....daddy went to a polo match tonight. He tried to tell me about it, but once he mentioned the horses I was amazed and completely tuned him out. I did not hear anything about the tailgating involving cheese and wine, the people dressed up really fancy like, and the "stomping divots." He said he felt a little out of place as he was in the minority. You see, my understanding is that most daddy's in New England don't care much for socks when they are wearing their church shoes. We ladies here think that is just gross and so we were happy to hear dad did not succumb to fashion peer pressure. Unfortunately, it was during the 4th chukker that I took my tumble and dad seemed to lose interest in all the horsy'ness he was around.
That was our day. Next week I start VPK and the Manchi kicks off the 1st grade. We are both very excited.
Okay, very late. The really fast route I took down the stairs has wiped me out.
Abby.
