Some Smiles and a Few Tears

Okay, okay.... I have no excuse for taking ten days to post an update, but it just happenend. To save you alot of boring reading, I will not attempt to recap all ten days. I will however touch on a few highlights that either made me smile or caused me to cry.

As for the smiling, well for starters, my mommy has taken two whole weeks of leave from work and is going to spend it all with me. Wanna talk about awesome!!! We are playing together all the time and I love it. I think hanging out with mommy is the best. Don't get me wrong, daddy is great and the time with him is always fun, but there is something about mommy that.... well let's put it this way, mommy is much more careful to ensure that I am not in a wet diaper. As for daddy, lets just say that he enjoys conservation in every aspect of the word. That is fine as long as the saved money in diapers is going towards toys for me, but with his addiction to Starbucks and home improvement stores, do you really think I am the one getting something out of this?

Okay, other things that are making me smile. Okay, I am not sick anymore. Last week, I felt it necessary to poop my pants so bad on two occasions that the school made mommy and daddy come pick me up. Refer to my previous posts for how terrible these episodes were. Come weekend before last, I was plain sick and that was a bummer.

I smiled when I got to see my friends Heath and Olivia. Olivia is almost the same age as me and is growing fast. I still can take her in arm wrestling, but if we were to have a shouting match the odds would be much more even. Heath is also pretty grown up. He is talking and is almost potty trained. I can't wait.

Let's see, I am also happy because I know have five teeth, yup count 'em, five teeth. Three on the top and two chompers on the bottom. Look out Papa Johns, here I come.

Milestone: While not fully recommended by a bunch of people, but not completely discouraged by my doctor, I have turned my carseat around and decided to face forward like a big girl. Okay, so I needed a little help with the seatbelt, but it was my passion and desire that led to this monumental occasion. Actually, it may have been a tinsy winsy in part to my grumpiness on the way home from Olivia'a house. None the less, I am in like Flynn and lovin it. (Daddy loves it cause we can drive in the VW and not in the SUV all the time...cheapscate!!!)

Okay, I am very sad though for one big reason. You see, the reason I had to go visit my friends Olivia and Heath was because my Great-Meema passed away on April 26th. She was 81 years old and such a wonderful great-meema. Daddy has told me many stories about her, and from what I gathered, she was one of the most compassionate ladies in the world. She was always volunteering to take care of someone, whether it was in her home or at the local shelter. She always had a meal prepared (whether you wanted it or not) and never forgot a birthday for any of her 4 kids, 15 grandchildrens and 21 great grand childrens. Even when she was very sick and in alot of pain, she showed her kindness. Her husband of 58 years, my great grandpa, was very sad to say goodbye, but was, I believe, somewhat relieved that she is no longer in any pain. You see, my great meema suffered from terrible arthritis and had an allergy to just about every known medicine. Despite it all, she was determined to never let that slow her down, and for nearly 81 years, it never did. I imagine she would scream in pain in the quietness of her room, and then return to the always crowded rooms of her home and host her family as if nothing was ever wrong. She was wonderful and I know my daddy will always miss her. Fortunate for me, we have the memories and stories that I will always be able to here. Thank you great meema for the memories. We all miss you and look forward to meeting you in heaven.

Okay, so I guess with all that has gone on in the last ten days ( not mentioning that mommy and daddy have been sick for the last three) it is okay that I waited to post to the blog. As always, I promise to try to get to the computer more often.

So, until the next time, goodnight and sweet dreams. Oh yeah, check out another family blog.

It was so nice finally getting to meet you, Grace! I wish we could have had more time for you to be able to meet Elena. She's only a few weeks older than you, and I'm sure you two would have had a blast! Make sure your Daddy lets us know when you are coming up for another visit so you two can play. :)
